This is the biggest coordinated prison hunger strike in UK history since the 1981 H-Block strike in the North of Ireland.
The hunger strikers include:
Qesser Zuhrah (20) Day 45
Amu Gibb (30) Day 45
Heba Muraisi (31) Day 44
Tueta Hoxha (29) Day 38
Kamran Ahmed (28) Day 37
Lewie Chiaramello (22) Day 22
All are young adults exemplifying the intensive political commitment of the current generation on Palestine. All have lost a significant percentage of their body weight, and, with the hunger strike in its second month, are reaching a critical stage and nearing the point of no return. Hunger strikers are now risking their lives by adopting the most selfless and peaceful form of protest that we, as humanity, possess.
The Government has not responded to any request for a meeting, demands or publicly acknowledged the hunger strike. However, the hope is that they will have to engage imminently given the deteriorating ill health of the hunger strikers.
At the press conference, we will also announce a letter from over 500 health professionals, urging political intervention, which was organised by Dr James Smith.
The hunger strikers demands include an end to censorship, which requires them to no longer be blocked from receiving or sending mail, to be able to access books freely and to have their security clearance changed.
Despite being remanded before proscription, all have faced harsher and stricter treatment since Palestine Action was proscribed.
They’re also demanding bail and the right to a fair trial. All face over a year on remand before trial, far exceeding the pre-trial custody limit of 182 days.
Public support for the hunger strike continues to grow, making this a defining moment in the history of civil disobedience and for international solidarity with Palestine.
Join us for exclusive updates and information surrounding the campaign.
For more information, please contact danielc@ikpsolicitors.com and/or prisoners4palestine@proton.me
You can also visit prisonersforpalestine.org

Six political prisoners, held on remand for taking action in solidarity with Palestine, remain on an open-ended hunger strike which began on 2nd November (45 days).
