EQ13<\/strong>\u00a0Refugees Welcome, Campaign Against Racism\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0National executive committee\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Congress reaffirms solidarity with refugees and migrants and commitment to opposing racism.<\/p>\n

Congress deplores:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The continuing hostile climate to refugees<\/li>\n
  2. The racist immigration and asylum legislation<\/li>\n
  3. The \u2018Rwanda plan\u2019 to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda<\/li>\n
  4. The attacks and protests by Patriotic Alliance and other far right groups on refugee housing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Congress calls on NEC, members and branches to:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Step up the campaign to overturn racist asylum and immigration legislation<\/li>\n
    2. and bring a motion to TUC Congress on this.<\/li>\n
    3. Express support and solidarity with refugees and migrants, including participating in broad based anti-racist protests.<\/li>\n
    4. \u202fShow active support for refugees under attack, including through solidarity demos and counter demos against far right groups at their accommodation.<\/li>\n
    5. Organise teachouts during strikes on anti-racism and asylum rights with refugee speakers and invite them to branch meetings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
